Residential and Commercial Property Lawyers

We are a long-established high street practice in Palmers Green, North London. We are looking to recruit property lawyers with excellent experience in all aspects of commercial and/or  residential conveyancing.

The position offers a competitive salary plus bonus/profit sharing scheme dependent upon qualification and experience.

Our objective is to bring in a solicitor with the requisite level of experience who is enthusiastic, technically competent, professional and personable with a view to developing future partnership prospects.

All levels of expertise will be considered but the ideal applicant will have the following skills and experience: –

• At least three years’ experience working as a fee earner within a conveyancing department.
• Exceptional knowledge of all aspects of residential and/or commercial property law.
• Friendly and professional persona with the ability to work within a small team as well as independently.
• The ability to nurture and sustain client contacts.
• The ambition and commitment necessary to achieve billing targets.
• Good I.T. skills with particular experience working with Case Management systems, Outlook and Excel

The successful candidate will be forward thinking with the ability to produce and develop fresh and innovative ideas.

This role would suit a proactive Individual able to deal with Property matters quickly and effectively.

The role would suit someone who wishes to be involved with dealing with transactions daily with a real sense of involvement and accountability.

Primary function will include the following:

  • Provide quotes and taking client’s instructions and dealing with the opening of files
  • Deal with the return of client’s initial instruction form and carrying out all necessary ID and Money Laundering checks and making further enquiries with clients where necessary for the team
  • Obtain redemption figures and title deeds
  • Obtain title documentation from Land Registry
  • Prepare contract documentation and issuing contract packs
  • Carry out searches
  • Carrying out all aspects of administration following exchange of contracts including sending Memorandums of Exchange, obtaining final redemption figures, sending Certificate of Title, applying for pre-completion searches,
  • preparing final completion statements liaising with clients, solicitors and agents on completion.
  • Maintaining diaries for completion and registration and complying with all deadlines
  • Sending all necessary correspondence on completion
  • Making SDLT applications online on completion
  • Dealing with registration of title at Land Registry
  • Sending client completed registration and scheduling of deeds to the mortgage lender
  • Fully utilise the Case Management system when typing correspondence, telephone notes etc

General support work will include: (as and when required)

Taking and receiving calls and messages

A minimum of 1 years solid Residential Conveyancing experience supporting a Senior Partner

Able to interact professionally with both the client, agents’ and other lawyers with confidence

Well acquainted with dealing in residential conveyancing
